Your First Appointment

Providing documents to us

It is important to provide us with as much information as possible at your first appointments so that our advice to you can be as detailed and accurate as possible. Please bring with you to your first appointment, or provide to us beforehand, any of the following documents in your possession:

For Children’s issues matters

Bring the following documents:

  • Any current court orders or agreements,
  • Any Apprehended Violence Orders current or past,
  • Birth certificates,
  • Any relevant medical records,
  • Any other document you believe to be relevant in your circumstances.

For Property issues matters

Bring the following documents:

  • Copy of your marriage certificate,
  • Any current court orders or agreements,
  • Any Apprehended Violence Orders current or past,
  • Any valuations of property,
  • Your past three months of bank statements, including credit card statements and mortgage statements,
  • Your past three taxation returns,
  • Your most recent superannuation statement,
  • Any statements relating to shareholdings,
  • Registration papers for any car registered in your name,
  • Any other document you believe to be relevant in your circumstances.
